There’s a difference for Mother’s day celebration this year. On an annual event, it will be celebrated for our mum. The difference for this year is that I celebrated the day with Andy’s mum too. It was a simple meet up for lunch ~ nothing fanciful for both our parents and us. No presents but there were cakes to complete the divine meal. What is so heavenly about eating out? To some, it is just dining outside with close family members. To me, it is rare to have everyone available for such meet up. Even after weeks of planning, we do have cancellation at the last minutes. It is hard to gather all of us as we have work commitments such as shift work. My father’s working hours on the other hand irregular and thus sometimes it is impossible for me to organize a gathering for the family. Thus, when such an opportunity arises, I will be the most contented.
In less than 2 years time, it will be my responsibilities to take good care of both of them. I have to make sure both their well being is taken well off. ~ My own mum and my future mother in law. Many stories that I have heard, shared of how difficult it is living with future in laws. I know it is! I understand that there will be lots of arguments and disagreements. I am aware of it and knowing that I will be moving to live with Andy and his parents once we have settled down. I know that it will not be easy for me to fit in and it will definitely take a while for me to accept it. It is not simple for someone to accept a new person living in the same house as them ~ even if I am already part of the family. It will be burdensome at times but I have to accept it readily as marriage is not only about living together with the person you love but it is also about accepting his families and friends. Though it is hard to comprehend it, I know that I must try my very best. At the same time, I will also need the moral support from my future husband to manage complex, delicate and unclear situation which will arise in the future. I will give my best to be the responsible daughter to both mothers. God help me…
Overall, lunch was great with the savory spread of Seafood feast, whole Sambal fish and New York fish and chips for me. We chatted a lot on topics such as work, families, marriage. It was engaging and enticing to be surrounded by your love ones and my future husband by my side. We shall do this again dear…
To Mak and Andy’s Mum,
Happy Mother’s Day! Thanks for bringing us to the world. Your sacrifices and love are immeasurable contribution to our life. For someone, who has sacrificed her life, her happiness and all her time for us…
Mak,
I love you.
I am incomplete without you..
I am thankful to you for bringing me up despites the hardship that we had in our life..
Throughout my life, you are always near, to guide me and nurture me…
Your tender smile to guide my way..
You are the sunshine to light my darkness path…
When my love is rejected by others and when no one else understands me,
You are the only one who cares…
Someday, I will be my own mother and I will understand walking in your footsteps as you watch me grow…
