A week earlier, Andy and I coordinated with Ah Chan for Ainee's surprise birthday party. The initial plan was just to have a dinner surprise but I was intrigued by Ah Chan plan to have her surprise party at Park Regis. The birthday girl beau did the intense planning and we would just follow the instruction given by him. His cover up for persuading Ainee to come to the hotel herself was successful. He told us he is a good actor and indeed he was. She was tricked into believing his ploy and made her way by public transportation all by herself. I could feel her frustrastration carrying that heavy haversack all the way from Woodlands (haha). When I did called her up pretending to ask her out, I could sense her annoyance by the tone of her voice. Pissed with Ah Chan is it? Once we are done with our shopping for the party favors, we hurried off driving in the speed of light ~ hoping that she will not arrive earlier than us.
The main concern about Park Regis is that the check in counter is not up to standard. The whole building is smoke-free and the cuisine and dining is overpriced. We were made to sign an agreement on a SGD$300 fee to be imposed if we are caught smoking. Like seriously! Can you also imagine a simple Roti Prata dish cost about SGD$17? Like hello! I do have a lot of complaints do I? No free breakfast and ridiculous pricing but the perk is its location. It is placed strategically in the centre of town and attraction areas like the Museum, Fort Canning Park, Clarke Quay, a whole stretch of pubs and shopping haven. It’s a great stay if you are a tourist making you way here for the first time. Overall, I was attracted by the open terrace top swimming pool where I could imagine myself just tanning as I sip my favorite drink, my book and of course Andy by my side. How perfect!
We kept ourselves busy rearranging the stuffs and carefully placing her presents on the bed for display. The excited boyfriend kept asking me if his gifts suited her. Yes her gifts! Overall, it was a combo celebration from her boyfriend. From two gorgeous dresses for the lady to an accessories set and a stylish retro hot pink lining speedy bag to complete her new collection. How I envy her! To complete it all, Andy and I bought a long sundress ~ a combination of lime green and blue for her. Not forgetting, a rounded chocolate fudge cake for the surprise!
To Ainee Misnawi, Happy Birthday my love! May you be blessed in life and have a great future ahead…? Your reaction was ticklish and unexpected. We didn’t expect you to react the way you did. Ah Chan was really good in fabricating stories isn’t he? It is all for a good cause. Hahaha… It was classic accepting your reaction ~ a mixture of anger, jealousy, embarrassed, joy, frantic, madness, childish, contentment and blessed…We hope you enjoyed the event and sorry that we had to leave earlier so that you guys can have your private moment together….love love love ….
P.S: Andy and I had a great time with your guys ...meet up soon ...Love
