Burning off that fats ~ Our MacRitchie trail

I was sleeping soundly like a baby when he called. It was like 10.25am in the morning and it was raining heavily. Nice weather to sleep huh? Some people just love disrupting my precious sleep! It’s the weekend and let me sleep till noon at least! It was my fiancĂ© on the phone. Hmmfff…

Andy: “B, so how are we still going for hiking today? Its raining heavily now
Me: “It will stop later so we are still going to MacRitchie Reservoir to hike today” *sleepy mode*

It’s a fact that we are just gaining more weight despite the monthly commitment to cut down on food intake like those deep fried food, fast food and luxury dinner. OMG! I am still at my “voluptuous” 60kg and I am still gaining more weight each day despite that liquid diet of mine. Is it me who has grown in appetite or it is just the age factor? The older you get, the harder it is to lose weight! Is it true?

I can’t fit in all my jeans ~ yes that bad! And now it’s my skirts! The hips are just getting rounder and wider each day. It’s a concern as it is not good to be overweight to support my petite frame at that 1.54m. It makes me more lethargic and I get tired easily if compared to last time. My body just feels weaker and it’s hard to push myself for a jog in the park now. Those non-stop eating has made me lazier and bigger. Where is that’s sexy body of mine? Hahahaha

And so with the motivation set in mind to get back my sexy body, we dragged ourselves to MacRitchie despite of the continuous drizzle of raindrop. I have 10kg to shed off and Andy has about 20kg to let go. Are we able to achieve our goals? Okay, we shall see!

The first half an hour was the most challenging trail as it has been a while since we had our last hiking trip. We pushed ourselves to our maximum limit as we took on the challenge. I could just feel that burning sensation in my gigantic and oversized thighs. It was pleading me to stop as it was too tiring. We focused and continued on ignoring the begging from the body to stop. No pain equals to no gain! To put off the pain in the mind, we talked about how slim we were in the past when he first got to know me. Yes baby, its mind over body now.

Along the journey, I hold on tight to Andy’s sweaty palm. Hehehehe…I just wanted his attention. After a while, he let go of my hand.

Me:”Hey why you let go of my hands?”
Andy: “I’m tired B

All we needed was a constant pace and a driven mind to reach our final destination ~ the Ranger station pit stop before making our way down and out of the nature reserve. Like finally, after two and a half hours of great willed and determination, we managed to conquer 10km of the terrain and we ended feeling sore and muscle stretch…good job to us!

Just look at how sweaty and how sticky I was from the hike and not forgetting how soaked Andy was in his sweat. What a great day and what an accomplishment! We have to do this again! Regularly!

Place: MacRitchie Reservoir Park
Location: Lornie Road

P.S: Going for hiking is a great way to get to know your partner...
