Goldilocks ~ Classic Polvoron

My colleague, Jim was sweet enough to get us a pack of Goldilocks from the Philippines. I have read about it before but I have never tasted it. I always have these sweet cravings for snacks like chocolates, sweets and candies and I simply love English shortbread for my afternoon tea, though in reality I am really not a tea or coffee person! Andy can never understand why I have to keep on munching chocolates in my mouth!

The Goldilocks Polvoron is some sort similar to the English Shortbread and I love those shortbreads especially the ones from Crab Tree and Evelyn which costs about SGD$15 per tub. Just thinking of it makes my taste bud wiggle craving for it! A Polvoron is a mixture of toasted flour, milk butter and sugar cooked and then molded into its round shape.

Within minutes, I am able to finish off the cookie which contained about 130 calories per serving. Being that kind hearted girlfriend, I kept a piece for the Mister hoping that he will like it as least for this once. When he stuffed the half piece into his mouth, he almost wanted to throw up! He didn’t like the taste of the shortbread! This eventually brought me to end up with a conclusion that my fiancé and I have different taste buds. We don’t share the same interest in food!

Almost everything that I enjoy eating like durian, chocolates and my favorite dishes is a turn off for him. So boring! Okay, maybe its time now for me to look for a Makan buddy! Anyone willing to company me for a Durian treat?

I crave so much to have that soft durian flesh in my mouth! It has been a while since I had you….Boo!
