Do
Purchase/ borrow wedding magazines as to keep up with the trends and useful tips
Hire a Professional wedding planner if you can afford it (Andy, can you hire one for me?)
Get everything in writing when it comes to service providers
Maintain an open communication with your Fiancé and both sets of parents, especially if they are financing the wedding. Keep them update so that they will be aware of the plans
Be receptive or try to incorporate some of your parents ideas (I’m sorry but “Hindustan Band” is a definite No in this case)
Be flexible, but keep your overall budget in mind
Exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet. Be happy and prevent yourself from being too depressed. ( I know I am)
Create a website to keep friends and family updated. (I choose to blog about it)
Try on your new shoes and break in before the wedding so that it will be comfortable. Try various makeup and hairstyles before your wedding
Buy a gift for each other parents/ siblings as a token of appreciation (Andy, lets decide on what to buy dear?)
Don’t
Don’t be controlling and open up to ideas and creativity. It’s your wedding remember. Don’t get too uptight
Don’t get involve in other activities; you will be very busy with the planning ~ we have other projects too!! Arghh
Don’t make major decision without discussing them with your fiancé
Don’t overspend; busting the budget can be extremely stressful
Don’t ever wait till the last minute to hire your professional service providers. Booked months in advance! * Noted on this
Don’t do everything yourself! Learn to delegate tasks and responsibilities to your fiancé, parents, siblings
Don’t assume that family members know what to do. It is important to give them direction and instructions.
Don’t get stressed up and angry unnecessarily over everything! (Andy please take note)
Don’t forget to make some time for your partners despite your hectic and busy schedule
Don’t argue and squabble over little things. Can your talk to her nicely? I am sure she will understand ~ Wink to Andy
P.S: Of'course there are many other Dos and Don'ts which you can also include in your list...
