If I am not an eCommerce Specialist, I would probably have chosen to be a Make-up Specialist/ Artist majoring in Bridal makeup or a Property Agent. Yes, I would have done that. As I was growing up, I was uncertain on the type of job or career path which I want to get myself involve with until now. I was more focused on looking for a stable job which I was not interested in obviously (haha!). ~ Mary Moe, I know that you are also not comfortable with the work scope. What’s with stability anyway? Even if you are earning big bucks, that will defeat the purpose if you are not in love with what you are doing.
I would definitely love to bring the Bridal makeup industries to another level. I believe that nowadays there are a lot of Bridal Boutiques which are spoilt for choices. It is fast becoming a new segment within the makeup artist repertoire. From traditional ethnic to glamorous to contemporary, most makeup artist now are major vendor ~ venturing out on their own. I know of a few who have done so.
Thus lately, I have been doing my research on Beauty and Make-up school available in Singapore. Definitely, I would love to learn it overseas so that it will be one of a different experience. Plan has to be postponed as I do not really wish to get myself busy other than with the wedding preparation. So I have decided to take up the skills locally, in Singapore. I am still deciding on which school to go to. Would it be cool to don myself up on my own wedding? My choice of colors and techniques. Not to dramatic, not too drag queen and not too gothic. What’s that word? ~ Never mind! I just want it to be beautiful, satisfying to my senses, creative, graceful and most importantly stylish. My taste!
So what do we learn in Beauty School?
- Basic Preparation Work like foundation application, corrective make-up, eye enhancement, eyebrow shaping
- The Basic make-up look ~ leisure day and night make-up, “Nude make-up”, theory on lighting, theory on color combination and co-ordination
- Advanced make-up Look ~ Bridal Make Up, Theory on studio, fashion and corrective techniques
- Complimentary techniques ~ Basic manicure for Bride, Basic Bridal flower arrangement, eyelash perming, eyebrow tinting and personal make-up tips

The estimated cost of the course will be from 2.5k and above. Some of the schools allow payment to be made via installment while some need to be fulfilled before class commences…
