Work hasn’t been a breeze and straightforward recently. My team and I are in the spotlight and being monitored and accessed from the Company’s global direction. One of the main focuses for this year had to be the drive for eCom’s tool. It hasn’t been easy I tell you. Those targets and datelines to be met which includes high expectations, results and revenues. It wasn’t about the usual mundane work scope of keeping the performance level up and managing customer’s issues. Now, it is more about driving and proposing to the customers on the benefits of “Going Green” and ultimately training the users to be IT-savvy. That’s the challenging part of the process. Not everyone is supportive of a change. To re-engineer a process takes time ~ how long counts in order to determine the success of the projects. Most are unfavorable of the idea and that’s where my team came in to give them with the coaching, the support and the training. Many of those whom I have spoken to provided negative feedbacks about the change. Not all though, most who are willing to accept the changes will be those who are dependent on technologies and would prefer to avoid doing it the manual way. It’s a mixture I guess as this would depend on the demography of the selected users that we have chosen from our list of database.
Being on a short break (5 days off from work) give me the time off to rest my mind from my “Cooker pressure” cubicle. I miss my desk though. I miss clearing my emails and I miss my lunch breaks with my colleagues. I miss my private “MSN” time with my online chatters especially with Andy despites our hectic day in the office. I absolutely do not miss my projects and that daily updates on the progress of the projects. Hahaha! Now that I am free from work, I am able to do more research on housing and properties and to complete reading up all my books from the shelves. Not to mentioned that Andy added 7 more new books ( I love “Trump, How to get rich” by Donald J.Trump) to my lists. I find it so relaxing and completing time at my own time and my own target. Concentration is the key word here. Working from home allows me to give my 100% concentration on things that I am focusing on. May it be working on the website, updating my blog, doing food reviews, surfing the internet for tips and useful resources and more time spent with the family. Of course! Not forgetting myself turning into that domestic goddess ~ learning and grabbing recipes online and trying it out in my mother’s kitchen. If only, I am able to do this from home but at the same time with income coming into my bank monthly! If only!
I have just completed my slides for my workshop and training on this Friday. It’s going to be a big challenge for sure. Training an external customer is much easier than an internal customer. The slides had to be detailed and perfect hoping to avoid any major mistakes during the presentation. My concerns is on them not concentrating on the training, trying to rush off soon to meet the client and maybe simply obliged in attending the class. Hopefully it goes smoothly as expected. Most importantly, they will be able to make use of what I have taught them and pass it on to their own customers. I am expecting questions and negative feedbacks. That is expected! I do have my complaints working with my own internal customers. Sometimes I find their request ridiculous but at the same time I try to understand that they too are being pushed by the external customers for an alternative solution.
Have you tried working with your own spouse then? I am now! We have just started and it was tough, baffling and complex initially. He has his own ideas and I had mine. We had our disagreements on major things and we argued and wanted things our own way. To love someone and learning to working with them is distressing at times. Its not the same situation most of the time. Yes we vouch that we will be professional when it comes to work but still after the whole discussion ended, a few seconds later ~ the argument starts again. It became like a process ~ over and over again! On one of the days where we had to design and create our website, Andy brought up his views and opinion on wanting something formal as our website. Of’ course, I didn’t listen as I was busy working on the coding and re-arranging web page. That’s the problem here! When I am too concentrated on my work, I will tend to filter out any feedbacks or instructions. Here I am squinting my eyes trying to figure out the damn settings and there he was “nagging” and demanding on changes. Hahahah! It’s a love-hate relationship during our working hours. Thank God that I came across awesome sites which helps us in designing our site with ease. That long hours of work with Andy!! Unbearable, unendurable but the end result of the perseverance was rewarding. We love our site and it will be up soon. The next level of the relationship is starting off to work together as a team….God willing…
P.S: Are you even thinking of trying? Think again...
