How’s your Raya celebration everyone? This year’s Hari Raya coincided with my brother’s birthday – Twees. As he sashayed outside my room in his grey Baju kurung excluding his heels (Hehehehe), anyone could see and feel his aura – one which conveys joy and happiness, blessed and thankful to God for allowing us to celebrate Syawal together once again as a family.
With my hectic schedule and that procrastinator nature, I didn’t manage to surprise him in time with a present (but he gets something better okay from me). Okay, let’s accept this, who doesn’t like to receive gifts right? Everyone does! For I guess, his was much better than gifts and monetary. His was much better as he was able to meet up with my entire family member’s from my dad side, kissing nenek who seems to have recovered well from the ordeal and our bonding time with cousins. That was priceless! Every one was overjoyed to meet up with one another and giving each other hugs and kisses and asking for forgiveness for the past mistakes. It was emotional and it was a heart warming experienced.
Unfortunately for me, while everyone were having the time of their life with all the mouth-watering Malay dishes such as “Rendang”, “Ayam masak merah” , “sambal goreng pengantin, “Sambal sotong”, “Sayur lodeh”, “Kari Ayam and the home baked cookies and cakes, I was having my downfall. The moment I reached home after the visiting at Nenek’s place, I started vomiting continuously from 3pm all the way till midnight. Is it a punishment for being too greedy? Maybe!
It was too painful and stinging for me to bear with the condition. My whole body was burning and I remembered taking short interrupted naps to ease the pain. The pain was piercing my abdomen and at some point, I could feel a terrible sharp pain. No, it wasn’t the cramps and it was just too excruciating to describe as every time I closed my eyes, all I could see was people and lots of them measuring my tombstone. For a moment, all I could do was to ask for God’s forgiveness. When it just got worsen despite the long rest, I knew I had to be at the clinic for treatment by the doctor. He gave me a jab and my prescriptions and I swear that journey home seems to take forever. Luckily for me, all my love ones were there for me – thanks to fiancé, Twees and Mat Nad for being there for me.
Okay, now that I am up and running – I am having a constant craving for Grass jelly and it’s my seventh can and still counting (My mum keeps buying it for me ...hehehe). Selamat Hari Raya to everyone! Maaf Zahir dan batin…
