15 of July 2010, The Proposal – Yes I do

It was one of those days where everything had to go wrong. Firstly, you are dressed in all black. From a black turtle neck to a knee length Lycra black skirt and black open-toes heels followed by a black face and a temper. That would be the after effect of a disastrous and a stressful day at work. All that you ever wanted was to have yourself tucked in the luxury of your comfy bed and to snuggle up with the pillows. Let’s just call it a day. I was quite reluctant to have dinner with Andy on that day but I had missed him terribly. He was persistent about meeting me. To top it up, I was constantly pmsing and the slightest mistake from anyone would trigger warfare. It will just end up like one of those silent nights where I just have nothing to say.

As we were strolling in the open air park, Andy pulled me closer and held my hand tightly. At the secluded end of the plaza, he was down on bended knees, in other words proposing to me. He trembled in nervousness and stammered as he pop the million dollar question. “Dear, Will you marry me?”

“Baby, Yes I do..”

For guys out there who are planning on a marriage proposal, here are some tips that you might wish to consider as a guideline: You just got to do it the right way!!

Do:

- Test her: The very least that you should do is at least to talk about the possibility of getting married. You wouldn’t want her to be caught completely off guard. There might a possibility that she will say no for an answer. For us, marriage is a sacred topic and it is to be shared between just the two individuals.

- Be prepared: Get the speech ready. Practice it if possible. Let’s us in that romantic and gentleman side of you. It is fine to be corny guys!! We do love it all the time especially me.

- Get necessary stuffs ready: We would love to receive flowers, engagement ring and Tiffany and Co Charm bracelet. The word here is carat. The higher the better. Pamper us if you really want us.

- Make it surprise and be creative: Make it a memorable one and plan it when she least expected it. Give her a surprise and a time of her life. Make her blush and tell her how lucky you are that she is yours.

- Drop on bended knees: Guys, please do drop the ego. It is always a success rate to be traditional when proposing. Be on your bended knees because it will add seriousness, sincerity and lots and lots of love.

- Tell her why you want to marry her: We would love to hear your reasons. It will make us feel so secure and loved. We need to know why marriage is so important to you. You may say something like, “Nobody have ever made me feel so perfect”.
